In response to a vigorous advocacy campaign spearheaded by both domestic observation organizations and international donor and partner entities, by the legislation - Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms, and Trainings has been entrusted with the authority to allocate grants to domestic observer organizations. These grants encompass three key categories: organizational support grants, voter education grants, and political party development grants. In recognition of the pivotal role political parties play in the democratization process, particularly in contexts marked by polarization such as that observed in Georgia, it is imperative to prioritize efforts aimed at collaborating with political entities. Central to this endeavor is the cultivation of human resources within these parties and the steadfast support of internal democratic processes. CDD takes pride in its extensive engagement with political parties in Georgia, having collaborated with over 25 such entities. Through comprehensive training initiatives, CDD has empowered more than 300 representatives across the country. This concerted effort not only enhances the organizational capacity of political parties but also fosters a culture of inclusivity and transparency within their ranks, thereby bolstering the foundation of democracy. A pivotal aspect of the grant allocation process was the adherence to principles of transparency and fairness, underscored by the implementation of an open competition framework. Additionally, a commission comprised of esteemed international organizations such as IFES, OSGF, IRI, NDI, CoE and others was instrumental in overseeing the selection process, ensuring accountability and upholding international standards.
