There was an extended meeting of the IATF held on August 1, 2013. There were discussed a number of important issues and violations recorded by the political parties, local organizations and the media.
The representatives of qualified election subjects, local and international observer organizations were invited to participate in the working process of extended meeting of interdepartmental commission. On behalf of the Center of Development and Democracy the meeting was attended by the Chairperson - Kate Chachava, who presented the recommendations regarding to improving the electoral environment and the Call of Center of Development and Democracy (CDD) to an Interdepartmental Committee, the Central Government and Local Authorities.
Based on elections code, the interdepartmental commission for free and fair elections renewed working since July 1. The commission held the first meeting on July 17, where the issues regarding to the procedures and facts reported by media were discussed (pressure on principals of public schools by the head of local security agency in Kaspi , head of resource center and the local governor; cases of threatening and physical attacks on the members of organizations in Gori of Republican Party by Shida Kartli Regional Police officers; cases of dismissal of Vice Mayors in Kutaisi due to probably political motives).
