Meeting of the Interagency Commission for Free and Fair Elections at the House of Justice

The interagency committee for free and fair elections was created in the Ministry of Justice instead of National Security Council. It was due to the legislative amendment signed by the President, which was published in "The Legislative Herald” on August 8.

 

After subordinating to the ministry of Justice the interagency commission held the first meeting for free and fair elections. The meeting with the new staffing was headed by the minister of Justice – Tea Tsulukiani. 

 

After moving to the Ministry of Justice, two ministries, one non-governmental organization and two political parties were added to the interagency committee for free and fair elections.

 

The interagency committee for free and fair elections discuss issues related to information spreading by media about the violating facts of Election Code of Georgia by public servants, as well as facts of violation  provided to the interagency committee by political associations (political subjects) or observer organizations. As a result, the commission will publish recommendations for public servants and public institutions.
