On 15 June media center of NGOs worked actively on local elections, with support of Foundation – Open Society Georgia.
The goal of media center is provision of conditions for media companies and NGOs partnering with the Foundation, for easy collection and distribution of information on electoral processes.
On E-Day and in following period the representatives of "International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy", "Georgian Young Lawyers Association", "Transparency International - Georgia", "Development and Democracy", "Multinational Georgia", "Human Rights Center" and "Public Defender" will arrange briefings at the media center. Observing missions of these organizations observed the elections held on 15 June in almost all districts and precincts of Georgia.
CDD observed local elections of 15 June 2014 in 73 districts, with its 150 member observing mission.
CDD observed pre electoral, polling day (opening precincts, polling and closing precincts) and post election processes. The E-Day mission fully covered the precincts established in exceptional cases. In total 20 special districts were established, out of them 9 based on the data of the Ministry of Defense, 8 in penitentiary facilities, 2 in the Ministry of Interior and 1 in elderly house.
