Interfractional group meeting was held in Georgian Parliament on February 4th. The meeting focused on specific initiatives and changes, which should be reflected in the election reform legislation.
The chairman of the Center for Development and Democracy - Ketevan Chachava introduced recommendations for 2014 Municipal elections prepared by 16 organizations to interfactional group members.
We hope that Parliament will take our recommendations into consideration. We believe that the 2014 local government elections only a few months before the current legislative reform cannot contain the essential - systemic changes, but the election to be qualitatively better, transparent and fair conduct of the order, we consider a number of matters. Also, we hope that the Parliament will be open to consider the basic - systemic changes according to the Constitutional Reforms.
