The Conference “2013 presidential elections –received experience and future steps” was held on February 19th, in the hotel "Radisson Blue Iveria. Conference was follow up in the discussion, which was held on February 13th, and was based on discussion by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.
The aim of project was to share the gained experience during the 2013 presidential election and planning future steps for upcoming local elections to ensure full compliance with European and international standards.
The Conference was held with the support of European Council, IFES Switzerland and the United States Agency for International Development.
The conference was opened by Georgia's State Minister for European and Atlantic Integration Alexi Petriashvili, the Council for Democratic Governance, Culture and Diversity Director Claudia Luchian, the Swiss Ambassador to Georgia Guenther Baechler and the US Agency for International Development Mission Director Steven Haykin.
The conference was attended by representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of Georgia, the CEC, the parliamentary and non-parliamentary opposition parties, international and local non-governmental organizations, including Chairperson of the Center for Development and Democracy Ketevan Chachava.
