“Political School” in Telavi has opened

 

Today the Center for Development and Democracy (CDD) opened “Political School” in Telavi.

 

Through the “Political School” program will be held meeting in Telavi Center for Civic Engagement (CCE – USAID) for few days during 11:00 am -17:00 pm period. Political parties will be introduced to important issues such as the electoral cycle, the election ethics, elections and electoral systems to international standards, minimum standards for democratic operation of political parties, the most important aspects of equality policies (gender, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities), political campaigns and others. During the School policy framework, attention will be paid on signed Association Agreement on 27th of June 2014 between EU-Georgia as well as awareness of right information about the visa liberalization process. 

 

“Political School” in Telavi has opened

 

The topic is very useful and important for regional representatives of political parties to be informed. Meetings will be conducted by qualified trainers / experts, who have years of experience in organizing and conducting training for local and international election observation missions in the management and operation of political parties.

 

"Political schools" has been successfully implemented in the cities of Rustavi and Akhaltsikhe, where participants were the last three years at a general election 15 political parties (both qualified and unqualified) 50 regional representatives and activist.

 

The project will be conducted in the rest of the region's self-governing cities:  Gori, Kutaisi, Ozurgeti and Zugdidi and Batumi.

 

The project is held by the Center for development and Democracy (CDD), with financial support of "Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training Center" to facilitate the elections, and is aimed to  the political parties and regional officials on long-term development of democratic processes, the improvement of political culture and create competitive political environment.
