Public discussions have started about the amendments to the Constitution Law. The changes were discussed in Batumi and Zugdidi.
On September 18th the Parliament made a decision to create public discussion committee, in order to ensure public discussion initiated by the 81 Deputy members “Amendments to the Constitution law”. The Committee consists of 10 members and Chairperson of CDD Ketevan Chachava works as a member.
The signed draft by the vast majority of 81 members includes the changes in Constitution about voting system.
According to the constitutional amendments 150 mandates has to be distributed in the proportional way to the districts. The amendments which has provided for in the electoral threshold of 5 percent to 4 percent lower and the cancellation of the parliamentary election results in low, and allows the passing threshold of the subjects in the parliament faction.
Organizing Commission has to discuss the draft law on the full or partial revision within a month, and the discussion will start one month after its publication.
The enactment of the constitutional amendment is approved for the next election which is scheduled for 2016.
