CDD is observing in Martvili and Sagarejo Municipality for Parliamentary and City councils mid-term elections

Center for Development and Democracy (CDD) is observing mid-term parliamentary and Saakrebulo election with 30 person observation mission in Martvili and Sagarejo on October 31st.  CDD observes Election Day procedures including opening, polling, closing and tabulation process. We are closely observing e-day at the special PEC in Daba Mukhrovani military base in Sagarejo (DEC №11 / PEC  №50).

By 12:00, observation mission of CDD detected several procedural insufficiencies, including: late opening of polling stations, misprocessing of electoral documentation, the incorrect number of ballot papers announced, pre-prepared of the ballot papers, the incorrect filling of Display protocol, defected inking procedure machines, the agitation on polling station by the PEC member, most of the above mentioned deficiencies were stated in Sagarejo election district.

Chairman of PEC N 11 in Sagarejo district announced less ballots than received from DEC. The above mentioned fact was written in Display protocol. A shortage of ballots was collected later, after our CDD’s observer announced the incident.

Unfortunately, Vicious practice of so-called political party “coordinators" mobilized near the polling stations, with purpose to mark names of voters in “Journal" still remains unchanged. The mentioned practice is visible in Martvili as well as in Sagarejo Districts.

According to the Center for Development and Democracy (CDD) monitoring mission electoral process by now is going in a peaceful environment and procedural deficiencies were eliminated on the spot.

In the head office of CDD we have hotline (790333111), where any interested person or organization may send information about violation of voting procedures or citizen’s electoral rights and our observation mission will try react in shortest period of time.

Updated information of the observation mission results can be found at www.CDD.ge as well as on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/CDD.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
