In the framework of “Political School” program meetings will be held in Center for Civic Engagement (CCE – USAID) of Kutaisi for few days during 11:00 -17:00. The representatives of political parties will be introduced to important issues such as the electoral cycle, the election ethics, elections and electoral systems to international standards, minimum standards for democratic operation of political parties, the most important aspects of equality policies (gender, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities), political campaigns and others. Within the School program, attention will be paid on the Association Agreement between EU-Georgia signed on 27th of June 2014 as well as increasing the awareness of right information about the visa liberalization process.
Meetings will be conducted by qualified trainers / experts, who have years of experience in organizing and conducting trainings at the national and international level, as well as managing observation missions and working with political parties.
"Political school" has been successfully implemented in the self-governing cities of Georgia: Rustavi, Akhaltsikhe, Telavi, Batumi, Ozurgeti and Zugdidi, Gori in which participated up to 170 regional representatives and activists of the 13 political parties (qualified and unqualified) participating in the elections the last 3 years.
In this month it is planned to re-hold “Political School” in Akhaltsikhe by the request of the participants.
The project "Supporting Political Parties to be Developed in the Regions to Ensure Competitive Political Environment" is implemented by the Center for Development and Democracy (CDD), with the financial aid of the "Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings" in order to ensure democratic processes, improved political culture and competitive political environment by supporting long-term development of the regional representatives of the political parties participating in the elections.
