Campaign participants "It Affects You Too, They are still listening" start the demonstration "1 hour without listening", which, is against secret eavesdropping and illegal wiretapping before the Parliament prior adoption of legislative package. The demonstration starts on Friday, 13: 00 am to 14:00 pm and aims the mobile phones off of.
The campaign about illegal eavesdropping “This affects you” is starting. The campaign is aimed to protect personal rights and immunity. Renewed slogan for the campaign is “This affects you! They are still listening!”
On March 4th, in the hotel "Courtyard Marriott" was held a meeting with European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy - Mr. Stefan Fule and member of the National Platform of NGOs. The meeting was attended by Executive director of the Center for Development and Democracy Ketevan Chachava.
The Conference “2013 presidential elections –received experience and future steps” was held on February 19th, in the hotel "Radisson Blue Iveria. Conference was follow up in the discussion, which was held on February 13th, and was based on discussion by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.
The aim of project was to share the gained experience during the 2013 presidential election and planning future steps for upcoming local elections to ensure full compliance with European and international standards.
On February 15th was organized a meeting about volunteering forum and exhibition by Helping Hand in the hotel “Cortyard Marriot”. On the meeting was invited around 40 organizations including the Center for Development and Democracy.
According to the GCG research the Center for Devlopment and Democracy was identified as one of the involved organization in the electoral process, with Georgia Young Lawyers Association, Fair Elections (ISFED), NDI, IRI, OSCE / ODIHR and transparency International – Georgia.
The non-governmental organizations which work on Women's rights and gender issues support the initiative of political party "New Rights" to promote women's political participation.
Interfractional group meeting was held in Georgian Parliament on February 4th. The meeting focused on specific initiatives and changes, which should be reflected in the election reform legislation.
The chairman of the Center for Development and Democracy - Ketevan Chachava introduced recommendations for 2014 Municipal elections prepared by 16 organizations to interfactional group members.
