On 16 February 16 joint recommendations developed for improving electoral environment were presented at the hotel Radisson Blue Iveria. The meeting was attended by the representatives of local and international organizations and diplomatic corps, worked on the mentioned recommendations. The discussion was held in the end of the meeting.
We, the NGOs call respective investigation agencies, to ensure unbiased, effective investigation. It is well known, that Prosecutor’s Office started the investigation on the fact of Iuri Vazagashvili’s death with the article 109 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which means intentional murder under aggravating circumstances. Taking into consideration high interest of the public, it is essential to implement the process in transparent and high professional manner.
CDD condemns terrorist act implemented on 7 January, at "Charlie Hebdo” office in Paris, France; as a result of which 12 persons died, 10are injured and 4 – in terrible condition. We express sympathy to French people and believe that terrorism fully contradicts to European values, based on humanism equality and respect to human dignity
The Center for Development and Democracy published the final summary of the monitoring report of Representative and executive bodies of local self-government elections in 2014 on Today, November 10th.
The Center of Development and Democracy (CDD) implements the monitoring of midterm local elections, through majoritarian system at No 48.05 Vakhani majoritarian election district of No 48 Kharagauli Election District in Kharagauli Municipality, to be held on 30 June 2014.
On 22 October the rally was organized by National Platform of Georgia of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, unifying more than 100 NGOs including CDD, in support of Ukrainians near the embassy of Ukraine.
We civil organizations come up with the requirement for establishment of working group for improvement of electoral environment and full harmonization of the legislation with international standards. The members of parliament and Government well as other stakeholders (political parties, international and domestic observing organizations, electoral administration) shall actively participate in the work of mentioned group.
On 16 September the Conference was organized by the Council of Europe and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) with the support of the Swiss Confederation and the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel.

The CDD observers submitted complaints to the District Election Commissions during the local elections 2014. The appeals were related to the responsibility of the PEC members, since the summary protocols were filled in violation of the law.
CDD observed second round of local elections 2014 in 8 self governing communities of Georgia, with 150 observing mission. The mission fully covered election precincts established in exceptional cases (in total 4 special districts – 3 in penitentiary facility and 1 in elderly house).
