CDD mission will implement monitoring of second round of local elections 2014 in all 28 election districts of Georgia, with 150 members.
US Embassy celebrated 238th Independence Day, with the reception attended by the representatives of diplomatic corps, government, political parties, international organizations and civil sector. The chairperson of CDD – Ketevan Chachava also attended the mentioned event.
CDD, with 150 member mission, will observe the polling day process: opening of precincts, voting, closing the precincts and summarizing the results.
On 2 July the CEC chairperson – Tamar Zhvania and the commissioners met with the representatives of civil society. The CDD chairperson – Ketevan Chachava also attended the meeting.
On 1 July regular session of Interagency Commission for Free and Fair Elections was held in expanded format, attended by political parties and NGOs with advisory vote; at the meeting CDD was represented by the chairperson Ketevan Chachava and chief lawyer – Gorda Surguladze.
CDD observing mission assessed positively the process of repeated balloting. The process went in calm and organized environment in compliance with the legislation in force.
According to information provided by observing mission, polling day procedure all over the country went in organized manner, in compliance with procedures and respectively was assessed positively by observing mission.
CDD observed local elections of 15 June 2014 in 73 districts, with its 150 member observing mission.
